Fall 2007 Fashion Faves and the Color Forecast for Fall

As promised, I am going to share some of my favorite Fall looks for the upcoming season. I love Fall because I love to layer my clothes. Being from the Midwest, I suppose I am quite good at layering.

After checking out a trend forecasting site, I have found some of Fall's must-have colors. The colors for Fall 2007 are exotic and warmly inviting.

1. Carafe- a rich brown


2. Chili pepper- a spicy red


3. Lemon curry- an almost mustard yellow


4. Purple wine- a cross between wine and rich purple


5. Dusk- a periwinkle gray shade


6. Shale green- a murky blue/gray


7. Green moss- almost an olive-y green


8. Burnt ochre- dark pumpkin


9. Stargazer- deep, deep turquoise


10. Cashmere rose- a pretty pink perfect for anyone

I am most excited to wear dark purples, browns, and deep turquoise colors. Oh, how I love Fall!

There are many great trends coming out for Fall. Here is just a sampling of some of the upcoming season's hottest fashions.

The shape for Fall is a much slimmer silhouette than Spring and Summer's bubble and trapeze shapes.

Tweed and chunky sweaters/cardigans will also be popular choices for Fall.

Funky hats and zippers will also be popular.

Dare to wear clashing colors such as navy and black.

Gray dresses will take center stage.

Trends that I am going to try are leggings and textured tights with cute dresses, a touch of metallic, and classic, clean cut looks.

I really would love to have a purple dress for Fall.

There is not a single thing I dislike about this outfit. Very feminine and classy with a touch of metallic. Want it now!

New Post This Weekend

I have been swamped with homework and many projects since I started Summer quarter 2 weeks ago. Fashion school is killing me. I had no idea it would be so hard, but I am prepared for the challenges I face.

I will have a new post up by the end of this weekend. Girl Scout Promise!

Did everyone go out and buy the new Harry Potter book last night? I went to see the movie last night with my sister, niece, nephew and some of his friends. And then we hit WalMart at midnight for the release. I am not a "Harry Potter Freak", but I have enjoyed all the movies so far, and I am trying to get through the books. Of course once the book was in my hands, I immediately turned to the last page to read the last line. Brilliant, but sad that the series is over.

Any opinions on the book?

Tee Time

Every girl needs a stash of great tees in her wardrobe. And, since it is summer, it is the perfect time to wear cute tees everywhere! Tees can be worn on a casual date with great jeans and cute flats, a day at a fun amusement park, or just hanging out at the mall with your posse. In any way, tees are multi-functional and very practical! Below, I have selected a few of my favorite tees.

I am obsessed with showing off shoulders and collarbones. I think off-the-shoulder shirts are gorgeous and always in style.

And when in doubt, always have a stack of basic fitted tees in an array of colors in your wardrobe. To me, basic tees are the little black dress of casual wear.

Summer '07 Lusts

Since it is a few days into summer, I thought I would share what I am simply lovin' for summer. To me, this summer is all about fabulously bright colors, flirty dresses, and pretty metallics all completed with beachy hair and bronze skin.

Welcome to Confessions of a Fashionista!

This is my 1st post on blogger. I have 2 other online journals at Xanga. Neither of them have anything to do with fashion. They are more personal.
This blog is dedicated to my fashion ramblings. I guess I should introduce myself now.

My name is Candace, but I go by Candi. I am 25, originally from a small town in Wisconsin, but now I reside in the usually humid and sunny Orlando, Florida. I work full-time (Monday through Friday) as a Nanny for a very wonderful family. I also go to school full-time at night. My major is Fashion Design & Merchandising. Someday I would love to become a personal stylist or fashion writer. I would also love to own my own accessories boutique someday. I really dislike sewing, therefore, I do not want to become a clothing designer. I am only in my 3rd quarter at my school, the International Academy of Design and Technology, and so far I love it. I live in my own apartment with my two ferrets, Bella and Max, and my boyfriend, Nate. I have great friends and a wonderful family, and am generally pretty happy. I have varied interests, and lately I love to read and dabble in web design. I really admire Lauren Conrad and Rachel Zoe. They are my inspirations for fashion school. My favorite celebrities are Lindsay Lohan (most of you will probably say, ew!! why?), Reese Witherspoon, and Ashley Tisdale. My signature look includes basic outfits with funky jewelry. I am a total jewelry fiend. I love Louis Vuitton (I own a vintage Speedy handbag), Juicy Couture, Coach, Urban Outfitters, and Forever 21. I listen to all sorts of music, and if anyone has any suggestions on new bands or artists I should check out, please let me know! I am still trying to find myself in life, and I believe in peace, true love, and of course, fashion!

I look forward to hearing opinions from my future readers, and I can't wait to become a fashionista, instead of a fashionista in the making.
